Named Funds
The Michael Reese Health Trust (MRHT) and those it serves have benefitted from the enormous generosity of several individuals and families who have established funds and trusts over the years to assist the original non-profit Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center. As the legal successor to the Hospital, MRHT is charged with the administration of a number of named funds in keeping with each donor's original intent, as well as following the donor's intent in use of allocations from named trusts that are managed elsewhere.
Many donors who established funds to benefit the original Hospital are acknowledged here, though not all such funds have existed in perpetuity. Only those funds still in existence are noted below. We recognize and honor the foresight and generosity of these magnanimous donors. The fund names and their purpose, if specified, are identified below. Please note that for purposes of fairness and efficiency MRHT grants are determined within its grantmaking programs and processes.
Applicants should not seek support from specific named funds.
